Notion was looking to launch their first international campaign and do it with a bang. What better way to create a buzz around your brand then to launch a global campaign? Using the tag line ‘For your life’s work.’ Notion used creatives based off their own community, who all use the platform in diverse ways and often more than just a ‘to-do’ list or workflow. The Notion platform is a collaboration tool that helps keep all your work, plans, notes etc in one place. Notion is the way to shape the ideas, flows, and tools that move you forward. With a broad target audience of career-changers, founders, business owners, artists, students and parents they are proving that this platform is one for everyone to use. A message they wanted to convey in their campaign. The aim of this campaign is to create awareness for the platform and its uses for not just business owners but everyday needs. They wanted to showcase that it was built with the knowledge that no two lives are the same and this platform provides a way for you to work and organise the way you want.

Challenge

The campaign is inspired by Notion’s users, and goes by the theory that the ‘community uses Notion to realize dreams and find purpose’ and ‘How can you make time and space to do what’s most important to you?’ They wanted to give people the flexibility to do this and get this message out in the world. This campaign was all about creating brand awareness. Placing their creatives in locations that target start-ups or more specifically digitally native tech companies and B2B companies, with around 1-100 employees. Their secondary audience was knowledge workers/urban dwellers, ages 18-35 and residential areas. By taking inspiration from their current community, they were able to understand these focus groups and pin point where their area of interest in the platform might be.

The concept of Notion was heard all around the world with ads in San Francisco, New York, Toronto, London, Paris, Dublin, Seoul and Japan. There are many different OOH creatives still at large today, that were inspired by members of the Notion community.

The results were second to none and we were over the moon to hear that the campaign reached impression numbers as high as 345,000,000 and counting! The key performance indicators were new site traffic to www.notion.com and increased aided awareness, measured by company. The campaign was a big part of Notions marketing strategy and the feedback we received from their senior management was great to hear.

Notion gave the campaign a strong online presence including a covering blog post: https://www.notion.so/blog/for-your-lifes-work-notions-first-brand-campaign and social media, where they shared the process of creating the Murals. This led to over 56,000 reel views and over 6,000 likes.
