The end of June marked a much anticipated trip for Evolve – team away days!
Waterloo station on Thursday the 30th of June is where it all began. Most of the team met by the station’s Pret to grab lunch before boarding the train – the cashier had never seen such a big order in their life, we were like cheaper by the dozen. Off we went to New Forest in Hampshire, a place in the middle of beautiful nature ironically called Sandy Balls. We were warmly greeted by the rest of the team, and got settled into the cosy lodges filled with thoughtful treats and Evolve branded goodies. We all felt at home instantly and even though we still had some work to do, it couldn’t have been in a better setting.
That evening, a number of the team donned some pretty funky shirts as we competed for the worst… with one clear winner, we’ll let you be the judge of that (picture below). We went on to a quaint restaurant for a tapas style dinner. Aside from the delicious food, one of the highlights was everyone gathering for Evolve’s annual company update, where we saw how our hard work was paying off!
The next day, the team woke up early, fueled ourselves with a fry up and headed to New Forest Water Park – what better way to bond than jumping and sliding around on inflatables in the middle of a lake? Some of us also decided to take up the challenge of wakeboarding, lets just say, it ended with a few face plants but we also uncovered some pros. We finished off the trip with a more formal meal in a lovely traditional pub, and all left feeling stuffed.
All in all, Evolve away days were a huge success and a great reflection of how we are more than just a company, but a group of people that simply value spending time with each other. Scroll for pictures!
